WW1 Aviation Short Film - HAWKER - Trailer (Test Shots) - Lanoe Hawker VC DSO

A film project about Britain’s first “Ace“ - Lanoe Hawker. The first Royal Flying Corps pilot to shoot down an enemy aircraft. Yes, we are attempting a low budget, crowdfunded WW1 aviation film! We have been working on this project for nearly two years, primarily to gauge its feasability. We are very happy with the progress so far, but we have a long way to go. We will be launching a crowdfunding campaign in the next few weeks. In a time when aeroplanes were used solely for reconnaissance and observation duties, Lanoe Hawker and the early pioneers of aviation combat foresaw the potential and need for the role of the Fighter Pilot. Their actions and successes changed the shape of warfare and the role of airpower still seen today, yet ironically sealed their own fate in the process. Before the invention of the Interrupter Gear, the issue facing any would-be fighter pilot, was mounting a forward-facing machine gun without shooting off one’s own propellor.
