b33 Tutorial – Sewing buttonholes (4/7)

Further information is available at In this video tutorial, you will learn how to use your bernette 33 to sew buttonholes with ease. You start by marking the buttonhole length on the fabric (about 2mm bigger than the diameter of the button). Then attach the buttonhole foot with slider and set the stitch selector dial to level 1. Turn the stitch length dial so it is set to the buttonhole symbol in the middle. Now sew your first buttonhole and, as you do so, select the relevant levels on the stitch selector dial for the part of the buttonhole you are sewing, as shown in the video. When you have finished, sew some securing stitches and then put a pin at each end of the buttonhole to avoid cutting the stitches. Check the buttonhole size and adjust the stitch density if necessary. When everything is set correctly, you can then sew the rest of the buttonholes.
