As first reported by The Direct, tie-in merchandise (specifically an official soda sponsorship) gives a first look at Hela’s animated design in the upcoming second season of What If, and her spiked headpiece is notably missing. Cate Blanchett’s return as Hela for What If...? season 2 was first confirmed in 2022, and this variant’s wildly different look already reveals a very different story for the almost-universally-praised Thor: Ragnarok villain. Marvel confirmed details of What If...? season 2 at San Diego Comic-Con 2022.
