Our second expedition across the border into black metal’s adjacent worlds of darkened ambient take us to the “audio rituals from beyond this realm” of Esoteric Obfuscation Productions, and recent project Magic Caster. All this is the work of Nicholas the Gnome; better known as Hermit Knight, regent of Weregnome Records and conjuror of myriad projects. In his Magic Caster guise, Nicholas looks deep into his scrying glass to reveal haunting melodies from a distant era, swirling shapes revealing mystic lands and alignments of stars this firmament has yet to discover. The album is available in digital format from the Esoteric Obfuscation Productions bandcamp, and will receive a cassette edition through Weregnome in 2024.
