Soke Inoue Yoshimi - Hikite and mawashi uke - Seminar Italy 2013

Soke Inoue Yoshimi, Rika Usami’s legendary master, talks about the importance of basics in Karate and shows some common mistakes seen during kata competitions. In particular, he demonstrates how to perform hikite (withdrawing hand) and mawashi uke (circular block). Incorrect techniques may not be noticed and penalised during competitions; nonetheless, it is important that the next generation of karate practitioners is taught the correct way of performing these basic movements, before learning advanced katas.
