As a dancer and choreographer, Farida Fahmy has played a major role in elevating dancing into a fine art in Egypt. Her unique style of dance, social status and dedication has inspired generations of dancer. Farida is the co-founder and star dancer for 25 years of the Reda troupe in Egypt. Together with the troupe, Farida has performed in over 50 countries, participated in many international folk festivals, and given command performances for heads of state both in Egypt and abroad. Farida received her Master of Arts degree in “Dance Ethnology“ from UCLA. She was awarded Egypt’s Order of Arts and Science of the first degree in 1967, The Star of Jordan in 1965 and the Order of Tunisia in 1973. Dallas Tx 2004
