The first view of this we got from the last gameplay footage when the GDFs Trebuchet artillery unit was leaving that red lighting effect wherever its shells landed as we do this time. Now we can also see the GDFs Sentinel units getting that effect after moving through a tempest field. This is called Tempest Charge and it can build up on mechanical units and reduce their combat performance making them move and attack slower. Harvesters are entirely immune to the Tempest Charge effect and infantry can pass through Tempest fields without harm and do not suffer any negative effects. If a unit is overcharged with too much Tempest it goes into Tempest Overflow and gets damaged over time. On the other hand units like the Tempest Dynasty Assault Gunner and Voltaic laser tank actually gain increased attack speed if they are affected by Tempest Charge. Remember infantry doesn’t get affected by Tempest fields meaning Assault Gunners get charged when hit by units like the Trebuchet which create this effect with their weapons. The Tempest Dynasty medium tank unit called Boar for example can be affected by Tempest Charge but is immune to Tempest Overflow effect. Additionally, The Sensor Array defense building of the Tempest Dynasty faction can build up Tempest Charge on enemy vehicles within its radius. Almost like a good old Tesla Coil from Red Alert. This Tempest effect adds another layer of gameplay and interaction with the main resource and between all the affected units. It basically takes Tibeirum from the C&C franchise to a whole new level and might point us to what the third faction is going to be all about. #RTS#TempestRising#Gameplay
