Diego Lopez-Diaz and His Orchestra - Preciosa

A “Masterpiece“. That’s how many critics describe Rafael Hernandez’ composition “Preciosa“. This Puerto-Rican composer wrote more than 3000 songs in different styles and is actually seen as “the“ most important Puerto-Rican musician of the 20th century. Airports and schools were named after him and President John F Kennedy christened him “Mister Cumbanchero“, after another famous composition of his hand. (“El Cumbanchero“). His music became an important part of Puerto-Rican culture and he even got his own museum (Interamerican University of Puerto-Rico). As always, quality music survives and in 2005, Puerto-Rican singer Marc Anthony sang his version of “Preciosa“ during a concert in Madison Square Garden, New York, and got a standing ovation for his interpretation. Here we present a beautiful orchestral version of the song, with Diego Lopez-Diaz as arranger and conductor. Counting down to our 300th post, which will be a 25 mi
