Kevin Shegog and The Gold-Toppers - One Small Photograph. (Original 45)

I’ve always considered this to be Kevin Shegog’s best known , when I check the chart books, I find that it failed to make the grade in any Australian mainland even Melbourne, where Kevin was very popular. Kevin’s previous single, “Little Kangaroo“ charted in Melbourne, but this one missed out. It certainly got heaps of airplay in provincial areas, though, and was very well known. Johnny Chester did a great job of it on his 1980 LP “Johnny Chester & Hotspur“. This is the original 1961 release, issued on a W&G 45, WG-S-1104. The flipside was Kevin’s take on the Hank Williams classic, “Jambalaya“. I have also uploaded the flipside to YouTube. It’s interesting to note that The 1964 W&G LP “Kevin Shegog’s Greatest Hits“ actually contained a totally different, re-recorded version of this track... ...but, what you’re hearing hear is the original, from it’s very first 45 release. (It was reissued in 1962 on another WG 45, with a different flipside). *** If you like my channel, why not SUBSCRIBE?
