Italy’s Olympic medalist and previous champion of this competition, Antonino Pizzolato, built up to a massive 170kg snatch and a 240kg front squat double. Clearly he’s in top shape. The rest of the Italian weightlifting team, including Giulia Imperio (who competes today) also look ready to fight for their Olympic spots. Team Bulgaria, with their home advantage, appear to be in their best shape yet. Though we’ve only seen Andreev Bozhidar and Ivan Dimov (Karlos Nasar arrives today) so far, both look stronger and faster than ever before. Lastly we’ve seen the arrival of the largest Romanian team yet! Mihaela Cambei competes today and looks to defend her European title. Andreea Cotruta has bumped up to the 59kg category in order to take a shot at making
