Orest Yevlakhov (1912-1973) was a russian composer and pedagogue. Among his teachers: Shostakovich, Rjasanov. 1963 he became professor of composition in Leningrad. Composed 3 symphonies, concerts, ballets, chamber music, film music etc. Amongst his pupils: Tischtschenko, Slonimski, Petrov, Gavrilin, Schwarz, Okunev.
I like the last one the most! But all pieces sound very refreshing and positive :) Doesn’t have to be so minor always in russian music!
