Here’s a Bebop Challenge with Gerard Presencer! 🎺🎵❤️
“In this exercise (which is actually the culmination of a set of exercises developing jazz articulation), I take a journey around G7 using various enclosures around the chord tones and connect using the bebop dominant scale -and a Coltrane turnaround towards the end starting up on the B.
In this example, I find it helps my focus to look at the top center of the bell and keeping a similar/consistent tone through all ranges of airflow. I treat jazz articulation as though it is legato and this helps to keep me flowing and light on my feet when I’m improvising and lots of other playing situations too.”
