Hundreds arrested as Nanterre unrest spreads

Hundreds of people have now been detained in France after a third consecutive night of rioting and unrest following the fatal police shooting of a teenage driver. The clashes are mostly contained to the Parisian suburb of Nanterre, but have spread to other areas of Paris, and some areas outside the capital. Video footage has captured the ongoing chaos, which the internet has been quick to contrast with concurrent footage of President Macron dancing at an Elton John concert, seemingly unconcerned that France is once again overwhelmed with protests.
