Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, Mark (born Marko) Kalfa began experimenting with the visual arts at an early age. He went on to study painting at the School of Visual Arts in New York. It was during this time that he became involved in the city’s thriving music scene of the mid-eighties. He was soon discovered by legendary dance music producer Chris Barbosa and recorded all the songs on the Yo’ Little Brother album except the title track, which was sung by Elan Lanier.
