Long Tall Ernie & the Shakers - Turn Your Radio On - Artiesten in de Rai • TopPop

Long Tall Ernie & The Shakers was the popgroup that more or less arose from the Arnhem group Moan, formerly The Moans, in which among others singer Arnie Treffers, Herman Brood, Jaap Dekker and formerly Cuby & The Blizzards-bassist and Music Maker editor-in-chief Jaap van Eik started their careers. At performances Moan played ’progressive’ pop music, and after the break the members dressed up as rockers and played a set of rock ’n’ roll covers under the name ’Long Tall Ernie & The Shakers’. Long Tall Ernie and the Shakers were: Arnie Treffers - vocals & guitar, Jos Jaspers - leadguitar, Ruud van Buuren - bassguitar, Alan Macfarlane - drums, Tony Britnell - piano. This Toppop recording was made 30 July 1976. The successor was their biggest hit ’Do You Remenber’, later in September 1976. ’Turn Your Radio On’ was recorded by AVRO TV for the program ’Artsis In The Rai’ on 7 July 1973 Watch our great music
