Empress Multidrive: Overdrive

Welcome back to , where we are taking an in-depth look at the Empress Multidrive’s overdrive section. Since it is genuinely 3 pedals in one, I’m going to use the Overdrive as the primary voice and showcase a few of its “tweed“ flavors with and without fuzz and distortion sprinkled on top. At PGS, we found the overdrive section of the Multidrive to be very true in nature to those tweed Amps of the 1950’s, delivering a warm, harmonically rich tone that’s anything but sterile. Empress designed the overdrive section to also produce classic med gain drive, clean transparent boost and much more when using the 3 band EQ. Cleaner headroom and better dynamics are also available when you power the Empress Multidrive at up to 18 volts.
