’Portland Police Clash with Protesters as Joe Biden Signs First Executive Orders’ While the Inauguration Day unrest many feared did not come to fruition, small pockets of protesters were seen clashing with authorities as Joe Biden signed his first executive orders. Eight people were arrested in Portland, where police and members of the National Guard used tear gas to disperse demonstrators. Around one hundred Black Lives Matter activists marched through the city, holding a banner that read: “We don’t want Biden, we want revenge”. Witnesses said far-left group Antifa was behind the smashing of windows at Oregon Democratic headquarters.
