CARLOS CIPA - ARKATA (Munich Session)

The second song of Carlos Cipa’s Munich Session recreates „Arkata“, a very freely played piano song on the edge of being too quiet to hear the circular figure the piece is based on. At moments, a subtle melody bursts out of the cloudy patterns and causes slight shifts in rhythm and mood. »arkata« highlights Carlos’ idiosyncratic style as a pianist and composer. His playing is gentle and humble, imbuing the music with both a subtle melancholy and graceful poise – minimal means achieve maximum effect.
