The Sydney-Kormoran Project Shipwreck Expedition

In May 2015, Curtin researchers participated in an eight-day expedition to the wrecks of the Australian light cruiser HMAS Sydney II and the German raider HSK Kormoran, which sank each other off Western Australia’s coast in November 1941. The wrecks lie in 2,500 metres of water, 20 kilometres apart, approximately 200 kilometres west of Shark Bay.
