Academic Writing Clinic: Organising text and avoiding plagiarism
As difficult as it may seem, avoiding plagiarism, is not a choice for academic writers(particularly the graduate students) to stay away from as much as possible. Because plagiarism as defined is a ‘theft of idea’ and considered one of the biggest crimes in academia.
This short video titled ‘Organising texts and avoiding plagiarism’ is the second session from the Academic Writing Clinic, 2023 series for the masters students of the Global and Digital Media program at the department of Mass Communication, @rudn_university. The video captured summaries of the key concepts we looked at during the session.
In this session, we explored the key steps in organising academic writing texts from drafting to outlines, paragraph structure to transitions and formatting. We equally looked at the importance of avoiding plagiarism and guides on preventing it.
