Hedvika Švendová began playing the guitar and flute at the age of 4 with her mother, Hana Švendová, and soon started to play piano, flute and violin also.
Between 2011 and 2017, she studied guitar with Petr Saidl and flute with Jaromir Hönig and Sylvie Mechova at The Pardubice Conservatory where she obteined the pedagogic diplom as well.
She achieved the bachelor degree in the class of Judicäel Perroy at the “École Supérieure Musique et Danse Hauts-de-France-Lille”, with regular master classes of Carlo Marchione and Florian Larous. At the same school she studied the same program as a flutist at the classe of Chrystel Delaval and Mathilde Calderini with the master classes of Magali Mosnier and Anaïs Benoit (piccolo), where she taked the classes of period musical instruments, guitars with Rémi Caissagne and baroque flute with Christine Jard and Dominique Vasseur. Today she studies the Master degree at the University of Zürich in the class of Anders Miolin (guitar) and Phillipe Racine (flute).
Besides of receiving many prizes in guitar competitions, she is also a holder of some special awards, such as “The Young Talent”, awarded by the governor of the Pardubice Region, The Golden Nut award presented by The Czech Television and “Young Guitarist of the Year” Czech Republic.
She has played concerts at some of the major guitar festivals : Mikulov, Křivoklát (CZ), Forum Gitarre Wien, Rust (Austria), Lanckorona, Tychy, Žory (Poland), Chengdu (China), Ligita (Lichtenstein), Bratislava (Slovakia), Balaton (Hungary), Los Angeles, St. Moritz, Tokyo and others.
She is endorsed by D’Addario, Strandberg Guitars, DPA Microphones and AER Amplifiers.
Since 2011 she has been performing as a soloist with orchestras such as:
The Czech Philharmony Orchestra
The South Czech Philharmony
The Czech Chamber Philharmony Orchestra Pardubice
The Hradec Králové Philharmony Orchestra
The Chamber Orchestra of The City of Tychy.
The Anima Musicae Orchestra Budapest
From her early childhood, Hedvika attended several master classes with the celebrated guitarists like David Russel, Aniello Desiderio, Alvaro Pierri and many more.
Between 2015-2017, she performed regularly with The Czech Chamber Philharmony Orchestra Pardubice as a second flute and piccolo where she had a chance to meet the solists such as José Carreras and to play in great halls such as Tonhalle Zurich.
Since 2011, she has received more prizes, including the 1st places at flute competitions in the Czech Republic and abroad.
In 2020 she participated twice at the Virtual Academy of Orchestral Music organised by FOK Prague Symphony Orchestra.
Nowadays she plays her custom made 8 string guitar by Petr Matoušek, flamenco guitar by Roland Pauwels and flute Sankyo.
