Explore the Incredible Technical Wonder of Dlouhé Stráně in Czech Republic!

This time Adam Gebrian visited Dlouhé stráně Hydro Power Plant in the Czech Republic, located on the Desná river. Take a look at the incredible and largest pumped-storage plant in the Czech Republic. It takes 7 hours to complete the pumping. Power is generated by lowering the water down, which happens during the day, and at night the water is pumped back up to the upper reservoir. In 2020, nearly 1,000 of these cycles took place. We’ll also take you underground on this tour.
