Hawija rescue operation led by Kurdistan’s Counter Terrorism force

Video footage from the Directorate General of Counter Terrorism, part and parcel of the Kurdistan Region Security Council, showing the recent operation in Hawija supported by US Special Forces. During the operation, the forces rescued 69 hostages, killed more than 20 ISIL terrorists and captured 6 others. A brave US service member, Master Sgt. Joshua L. Wheeler, died in the course of the operation. Three Kurdish Counter Terrorism officers were injured.
