Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - 1996 World Figure Skating Championships, Men’s Long Program - Ilia Kulik of Russia skated a wonderful program here except for the fact that he repeated a triple flip without doing it in combination. Thereby, the 2nd triple flip didn’t count, and that was all that was needed for the judges to place him 2nd in the Long Program. That would drop him from 1st to 2nd Place overall.
