Former adviser Tim Montgomerie says the Tories will become the “third place party” if Nigel Farage becomes the “front person” for Reform UK. Rishi Sunak is facing a new crisis as the latest YouGov poll puts Reform UK on a record 15%, just 4% points behind the Tories. The poll puts the Conservatives at 19% which is a fall of one point from a week ago, matching their lowest vote share this Parliament. Labour have a 25-point lead over the Conservatives with 44%, which is unchanged from a week ago. Notably, even among the oldest Britons, who have traditionally been the Conservatives’ most loyal supporters, just 32% say they intend voting Tory.
