Graphium agamemnon (Tailed Jay) Transformation: Caterpillar to Butterfly - Timelapse

Graphium agamemnon (Tailed Jay) Transformation: Caterpillar to Butterfly - Timelapse Soursop (Annona muricata) is the host plant where I found this caterpillar. I raised this caterpillar in a small container, such as a tupperware or something like that, so I can see it anytime and wait for two beautiful moments (caterpillar to chrysalis, and chrysalis to butterfly). When about to pupate, the caterpillar will look for a place to make a silk pad and a silk girdle to hang its body. Pupation takes approximately 12 hours after the caterpillar hangs its body with a silk pad and a silk girdle. After becoming a chrysalis, it usually takes about 12-14 days to become a butterfly, but this one is 11 days faster. So here it is, the transformation of Graphium agamemnon (Tailed Jay) caterpillar into a butterfly. • Taken with Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray, with and without an additional macro lens.
