Terry Bozzio - Djon Don (Drum Solo 2001)

Drummer Terry Bozzio is one of the highlights from our archive. We had to move to the big studio for the recording, because he had brought so much percussion and also wanted to use it. Bozzio is an enigmatic, evocative, and engaging musician whose instrument just happens to be the drums. He played with Frank Zappa, who wrote “the black page” for him, with UK, Jeff Beck, Thin Lizzy and The Missing Persons together with his wife Dale Bozzio. We remember his solo performance as a unique, dynamic, melodic and orchestral event. Amazing how he could accompany himself on the drumset: Bass (drum) note patterns and at the same time a melodic solo on top. Terry Bozzio is a true storyteller on his set.
