Dr. Mashiul Chowdhury is an expert on infectious diseases during the day but at night and on weekends he paints. His paintings are richly textured plein air cityscapes and the layering he employs is something he got from a series of photographs he made, from all over the world, of walls and the sides of buses. These images reveal a natural and found art, intentional and not intentional, that took decades of urban life to form. Both Mashiul’s painting and photographs are on display at Wallingford’s Community Art Center.
