H1MIN: WALLER AERIAL GUNNERY TRAINER

Long before video games and virtual simulators, the Waller Gunnery simulator was a clever system designed by Fred Waller and the Vitarama Corporation during WW2 for the U.S. Navy and Army Airforce. It enabled to train thousands of bomber crews in the challenges of aerial gunnery and deflection shooting. This projection system later became the Cinerama format that was introduced in film theatres in the 50’s and ultimately influenced the IMAX film format that exists today. More can be found on Fred Waller’s inventions here.
