Princely Family of Liechtenstein

The House of Liechtenstein once owned vast lands across Austria and Moravia. The current country was given the status of an independent principality in 1719 by the Holy Roman Emperor Charles VI. HSH Hans Adam II became the Reigning Prince of Liechtenstein in 1989. His son, Hereditary Prince Alois is now serving as regent in preparation for when he will be called upon to assume the throne.
