Candles (1955)

C/U of a candle being lit. The candle is set into a metal candle holder which is attached to a wall. M/S of a modern candelabra - it hangs from the ceiling and holds seven red candles. C/U of detail - camera tilts up to show the candles. Narrator states that coloured and ornamental candles are making a comeback on the domestic scene. M/S of two candles in modern candle holders. The candles are from Denmark. Another candle display is shown, three candles placed around a plant pot. Narrator recounts the history of candle making. A flower arrangement with candles sticking out of it is shown - pretty ugly. Four long candles in low candlestick decorate a small table. C/U of the base of the candlestick. C/U of a square white candle. The lights go down and the candle is illuminated from within. C/U of the “solid block of wax“ which is coloured on the inside. It burns for more than fifty hours.
