Silken Suppleness (1930)

Dance movements by Marika Rokk the Budapest Dancing Star from the London Coliseum. C/U of very glamorous woman wearing a skimpy shiny outfit and head dress. She dances around a bit. Very stylised movements - lots of flinging the arms around and standing on tiptoe. Marika slowly bends down lifting her leg up behind her. She does a kind of handstand, balancing on her arms and elbows. She opens her legs out in the splits then holds one of her feet in her hands - contortionist. More dancing around then the splits. She bends over backwards then kicks her legs over. She ends her dance with some wild spinning. We see her do some balletic leaps in slow motion. Was an item in Eve’s Film Review issue number 455.
