Filmed at Eastcote, Middlesex. “We came across them at the Sign of the Shuttle - busy washing the wool - “ M/S of a large sign outside a house which reads “The Shuttle“ and has a picture of a loom shuttle painted upon it. M/S of two young girls (from Collins ? family) standing in a bath in shorts and shirts. A fleece is put into the bath with a bucketful of water and the girls begin stamping on the wool. “Here they dye to live - “ M/S of the two girls helping their mother to dye wool. “It’s a good job Eve’s hair doesn’t require the same kind of combing as this wool. M/S of group of young girls carding wool. An older woman helps the girls to separate the strands of wool. “Like a page from the past - “ L/S of girls sitting in the open air at spinning wheels. They spin the wool. C/Us of woman working at a spinning wheel.
