Opening Pathe titles: “Pathe Super Gazette - covers the World for News“. Full title reads: “Royal Braemar Gathering. The Parade of the Clansmen“. Braemar, Scotland. L/S of crowd watching athletes in kilts in traditional Scottish sports games (tossing the caber etc.). M/S of procession of men in kilts with swords marching over bridge. C/U of man in traditional highland costume smoking a cigar. M/S of car coming to a halt. Prince and Princess Arthur of Connaught get out of car and shake hands with dignitaries in highland costume. Various shots of bagpipers and dignitaries, the Clansmen, marching passed crowd. The Clansmen are followed by Duff Highlanders and Ivercauld Highlanders “carrying their double edged Claymores“ (swords). Note: King George V and Queen Mary are not at gathering - court is in mourning, not sure who for. Note: Prince Arthur of Connaught is the son of Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught.
