Pow! Pow! Pow! This mostly-instrumental version of the Sergio Mendes hit (listen here: ) was the leadoff track on Command’s “Brass Impact” LP, with Warren Kime conducting an ensemble of session musicians that included such familiar names as Doc Severinsen, Phil Bodner, Bucky Pizzarelli. George Duvivier, and Ed Shaughnessy.
While my channels are dedicated primarily to single-release versions (which means nearly all mono into the late 1960s), this piece also deserves to be heard in stereo:
Transferred from mono 45 single Command 4093 - Mas Que Nada (J. Ben-L. Deane) by Brass Impact, The Brass Choir conducted by Warren Kime, arranged by Jack Andrews, produced by Loren Becker & Bobby Byrne
