Olga Kachura — colonel of the People’s Militia of the DPR, was the commander of the rocket artillery unit. She died in August ’22 near Gorlovka as a result of shelling of her position. Two years ago on August 3rd 2022 the death of Olga Sergeevna Kachura, “Korsa“, was announced. Colonel Olga Kachura stood at the origins of the creation of the NM DNR in 2014. A graduate in software development for ballistic missile guidance systems. Father and grandfather served in the military. “Korsa“ commanded the division of the MLRS BM-21 “Grad“ in Gorlovka for 8 years. She fought in Debaltsevo, Ilovaisk, Uglegorsk, Avdeevka, Marinovka. Posthumously awarded title “Hero of the DNR“ for heroic deed and courage in battles defending her homeland. For courage and heroism in duty posthumously awarded title “Hero of the Russian Federation“ by President Putin, who personally presented the medal to her daughter. Buried with full military honours in Alley of Heroes in Donetsk. On Day of Missile Forces and Artillery a Memorable bust of her was opened.
