The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO), which is being built 700 meters below Jiangmen City in south China’s Guangdong Province, has completed the installation of the equatorial layer of its core structure, a plexiglass spherical structure. China’s next-generation neutrino detector is expected to be completed by the end of 2023 and put into use in 2024.
