Sxuperion (US) — Auscultating Astral Monuments — 2021 full length

This long running solo project of Lord Sxuperion crafts the sixth full length with already an handful of shorter releases. Since I am not as much exposed to death as to black I might be not giving a proper analysis but honestly this is a quite interesting project. So while you have this synth occasionally creating cosmic textures you also have the remaining instruments oscillating between death and black metal. However being torn between these two genres it does not mean it is always a constant fast non stop hauling at a hyperspace full throttle speed, it is quite varied concerning the tempo and follows a quite uncommon path regarding the melody. I cannot see anything out of place, so if i had to choose what I like more I’d be torn between the great vocal power or the fantastic drumming. While it might not appeal to everyone, it has plenty qualities that surely many metal fans enjoy.
