Simpler: Painting with Only 6 Pre-Mixed Colors - Thursday, Week 37 (01/10/2020)

6 Colors!!! Pre-mixes waned and so did our hopes to not suffer through this week. Today we concentrated on having two very slight accents. That little greyish red amongst that yellow-green grey, even though the equal in value, provides the accent in saturation, and that blue grey gives a nice opportunity to anchor the image with the offset base of a pyramid composition. Oooff... what a humbling lesson this week. A reminder that choices matter. I mean, we all know that, it is almost too obvious of a statement. But the basics of painting tend to be this way - deceptively simple. Our lifetime seems to not suffice for us to truly understand these fundamental aspects, but the prospect of every single day becoming a learning opportunity is enough for us to be eager about pushing on!
