Instead he: 1. Hit the reach button, which meant he had to discard. 2. Discarded a tile that results in the lowest possible value for his hand. 3. Discarded a tile that left him waiting on one of the three remaining 7-pin tiles when he could have been waiting on seven tiles (e.g. discard 6-pin, waiting for another 6-pin or a 9-pin) ...and despite all this stupidity he lucked out and won anyway, and then lucked out on an ura-dora to raise the value of his hand from 6k to .
