Airport car park in London collapses and destroys ’hundreds’ of cars after huge blaze

A multi-storey car park at Luton Airport in London has collapsed after a huge fire erupted on Tuesday evening, with hundreds of cars thought to have been destroyed in the blaze. The airport confirmed flights remain cancelled after the fire at around 9pm last night as firefighters continue to tackle the inferno. Flights are expected to resume around noon on Wednesday but passengers have been warned not to travel to the airport yet. Four firefighters and a member of airport staff were taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation and another firefighter was treated at the scene. Footage posted on social media showed flames and smoke tearing through cars parked at the newly-built airport car park.
