🎢Gelmerbahn, the steepest open funicular in Europe with a 106% gradient, will take you to Lake Gelmer (1850 m above sea level). Helmersee is the starting point for hiking and mountain tours. The Gelmerbahn lower station is easily accessible both by car and by post bus (bus stop: Handegg, Gelmerbahn). The station is located in Khandegg, right on the road to the Grimsel Pass.
