LLNL TESSA Simulation of 2009 Cosmos+Iridium Satellite Collision

On February 10, 2009 Iridium 33 and Kosmos-2251 collided in orbit. The satellites collided at a speed of 11.6 kilometres per second (7.3 mi/s). This is a video was generated from simulations performed at Lawrence Livermore National Lab on the Testbed Environment for Space Situational Awareness (TESSA). The video does not have any sound.
