Hello folks! Today I will show you a great restoration! This is a Caucasian type of dagger called “Satevari“, i.e. for attack. It’s shaped like a dagger, but it’s a short sword. During the battle, it was used as the main weapon and additionally had a dagger in stock. The finish and fittings of the scabbard and handle are the same, but the purpose in battle was different. This subject is almost 200 years old. The condition is terrible. Approximately 35% of the item has been lost. My task is to save it, restore it and show you that it is still capable of testing! And yes, this item will be sent to a private museum, it is open every day in the center of the old town. Well, let’s start the restoration!
Firstly, using a spatula, I removed the rust layer and placed it in a rust remover. A couple of days later, I took it out, washed it, dried it. And started processing the cutting edge. The cutting edge has become thinner than a piece of paper, welding will not help here
