Review, including four test block shots, of the Lehigh Defense Xtreme Penetrator, 9mm 115 grain solid copper ammo. This ammo is non-expanding, non-fragmenting. Chronographed velocities are from a Glock 19, 4“ barrel.
The review includes chronograph velocities, day and night shots, test shot; post-shot review of cavitation and penetration.
My frustration with this test, in spite of the bullet being well-constructed, is that in the greatest majority of scenarios this ammo is not suitable for self-defense. The risk of collateral damage is exponential with something like this. If you don’t don’t care about that type of thing, FMJ would probably give similar results, and it’s much cheaper.
I receive a ton of questions with regard to my choice for carry ammo. The video below explains it better than I could with a typed response. Although produced in 2013, my opinions really haven’t changed.
