Eastern Buzzards Calling Each Other

An Eastern Buzzard (Buteo japonicus, family Accipitridae) perched on the favourite treetop of a Japanese red-cedar (Cryptomeria japonica, family Cupressaceae) at the foot of a mountain. The bird of prey called each other with a pair-bonding partner (or a fledged juvenile?) somewhere in the forest nearby. Interestingly, they called in different tones. What you also hear in the background of the opening scene (@0:00 - 0:25) is a noisy chorus of male cicadas (Platypleura kaempferi, family Cicadidae) singing continuously. Captured in the sunny midafternoon (around 14:45 PM) of mid-July 2021 in Japan. For a full story (text in Japanese);
