It’s time for another one of Mr. Mitsuda’s amazing compositions, this time with a theme that’s designed to be absolutely shred metal as heck right from the get go! This boss theme is originally already a metal banger so it was an awesome platform to build on and add my own style. Despite it already being such a thrashing metal theme on the original, I found very few cases it being challenging to have a unique voice with my own arrangement. The theme flows so beautifully as it is and I found myself able to put in my own chord voicings over the amazing melodies to give it a more melodic death metal vibe without anything feeling off from the theme. I also experimented a TON with harmonizing some of the lead passages which seemed to bring a ton of new life into the theme. I feel super at home with Mitsuda’s compositions pretty much every single time! The leads in this arrangement are such a blast to play. Some of them are truly no joke. I had to put in a BUNCH of hours into the recording to try and nail some of these parts. But it was totally worth it in the end! Overall I had a blast putting this theme together and I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it.
