10 years to the day Draxtor Despres filed a reportage for the short live virtual news outlet “Life4U“ about the virtual version of the infamous Guantanamo Bay prison camp. A project by Nonny de la Peña and Peggy Weil which was conceptualized at the Bay Area Video Coalition under the leadership of Wendy Levy “Gone Gitmo” ushered in the era of immersive journalism. This Second Life project pioneered the use of user centric virtual worlds as important engines for social good. The accompanying Machinima rep
