Gov’t, unionized health workers fail to bridge gap in negotiations

인력 처우-공공의료 확충 이견…보건노조 모레 총파업 가능성 It looks like Korea’s unionized healthcare workers will be going ahead with a strike this Thursday... after talks fell through with the government today... medical staff saying they’re overworked and demanding better working conditions in the pandemic. The two sides have held twelve rounds of talks. The Korean Health and Medical Workers’ Union, representing more than 56-thousand nurses, pharmacists and others but not doctors has demanded the addition of more public hospitals and personnel. Many nurses have quit or taken leave, saying they’re burnt out and compensated too little for their rigorous schedules. Health Minister Kwon Deok-cheol has urged against the strike due to concerns about an already burdened healthcare system. #Government #strike #health_worker 📣 Arirang News(Facebook) : 📣 Arirang News(Twitter) : 📣 News Center(YouTube) : 2021-08-31, 17:0
