Lithuania – just after collapsing of the USSR, the first crazy years of regained independence in the ’90s. It was the wild times for gaining wealth and many of so-called ordinary folks’ lives going down the drain.
The tape goes into section – archeology. It is not a set of the nostalgic cult anthems of the era, but rather obscure pieces of music from naïve mainstream pop to no less naïve alternative scene. Inserts of media interviews add a layer of humour, but only if you understand the Lithuanian. If not, explore and enjoy the music that at some moments is brilliant.
Listen ‘Jaunimo sodas’ on the summer night at the bonfire with your friends or at the party when it goes well into the next day. The feeling of softness follows through this lo-fi piece of music from a time that has already happened, in contrast to the present and the future. BUY IT AUDIO here: Artwork: Studio Cryo
